I don't know how many pairs of eyes
looking skyward
on a morning August with U.S. air supremacy
left their eyesight
at that point
where history turned into the nuclear age

To witness history
with a blindness
equal to that of Einstein and politicians
is something to think about...

Some, with their backs to the BOMB
left their shadows
on the concrete they shielded
from the brilliances of Einstein's brain

And so many tourists
seeing these shadows cast across their futures
do not turn radicat
destroying the root of Government
with tax-refusals
     conveyed
by nonviolence doing ruin
     to patriotism
          that nationalism
more disabling
than for those who witnessed
     a Hiroshima mourn
          in darkness...
