The Haircut

The haircut at the end of the bar
is puking out his thoughts
and I hate him

his girlfriend’s too pretty
his teeth are too white
his bills too crisp

he must have a cash station card
but can he keep his dick hard
when he needs a place to crash

does he panic when the phone rings
does he need a drink in the morning
has he ever even thought about death

has he ever punched a cop
or pissed in the fridge
or fell down the stairs he was sleeping on
no

the haircut’s no fool
just an idiot who bought me a drink
and I’m the fool that drank it
