Christopher Hyatt
Born September 4, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. Began writing science fiction adventures at the age of thirteen. Educated at Columbia College in the mid-eighties and addicted to drugs around the same time. Lived the life of a failed screenwriter and ineffective suicide in Hollywood, California. Returned to Chicago in 1992 and began writing poetry. Hyatt's poetry and fiction have been published in "Indelible Ink" magazine, and his essays about horror films were collected in the anthology "Hair Trigger 12". He lives a life of relative leisure in Chicago, and listens to Iggy Pop more than anyone else alive.
Hyatt counts among his influences William S. Burroughs, Edgar Allan Poe and Charles Bukowski. About his own writing, he says, "I want it to be like punk rock -- really fast, simple, and above all really LOUD. And it's got to sound like anybody can do it, because anybody can. Everybody writes, so the act is about as special as blowing your nose. I just like how it looks on the Kleenex." Yeah, whatever.
A sample of Hyatt's short fiction can be found in Prose.
