Fresh From the Latest Battle at Wounded Knee

Freedom to choose one's destiny
denied the one taken for the fall
Scape goat
who has endured the burden of prison
for over twenty years
with the pride of an indian
UNBROKEN.
In the lad of the free
Brave Leonard took the blame
for his father
mother
sisters
brothers
friends
who live the life he can not noe
BUT WILL
(and I promise you, Leonard, you will live free)
for as long as I breathe draw air
and can RAGE
at the torture forced upon you
All of us raise our voices in furious indignation
as long as Leonard's plight
has the power to draw fight
not the complacency so many would have us believe is America
(sickly media complacency - we're not at war...so everything is find...)
For the indians - the first to believe in
our Sacred Mother Earth
all we are worth
She who gives life
take a STAND!
Cherokee and Navaho, Sioux and Sauk, Arapaho, Zuni Pawnee, Hopi, Crow
STAND!
Blackfoot, Yuma, Creek, Apache, Maricopa, Fox Comanche, Cheyenne, Choctaw,
Sia, Cree
STAND!
Mohawk, Seminole, Ojibwa, Potowatomee
STAND!
and all nations rise beside you
African - European - Chinese
RISE
All of us in the "Land of Liberty"
Fresh from the latest battle at wounded knee
fight for
the man - our son - our friend - our father - our brother
Leonard Peltier
to live free!

(for Leonard Peltier, American Indian unjustly imprisoned for over 20 years)
